ABSTRACT
It can be observed in recently that the demand for gas has been growing in Poland and UE countries. Natural gas is considered to be the most ecological energy carrier if we think of conventional fuels. The article presents the role of natural gas in the electricity generation structure in Poland and selected countries. It also draws attention to the present directions of gas delivery to this country and it shows some further perspectives. Finally, it presents the ecological aspects of using natural gas in the energy sector on the basis of heat and power plants in Zielona Góra.

Rola gazu ziemnego w wytwarzaniu energii elektrycznej w Polsce na tle wybranych państw świata
gaz ziemny, wytwarzanie energii elektrycznej
Ostatnio zaobserwować można zarówno w Polsce, jak i krajach UE zwiększony popyt na gaz ziemny. Gaz ziemny jest uważany za najbardziej ekologiczny nośnik energii spośród konwencjonalnych paliw. W artykule przedstawiono znaczenie gazu ziemnego w strukturze wytwarzania energii elektrycznej Polski i wybranych państwa świata. Zwrócono uwagę na aktualne i perspektywiczne kierunki dostaw gazu do Polski. Przedstawiono ekologiczne aspekty stosowania gazu ziemnego w sektorze elektroenergetycznym na przykładzie Elektrociepłowni Zielona Góra.
